Ayahuasca. DMT. LSD. Peyote. Psilocybin mushrooms.
I’m going to give you a full-disclosure moment here. I’ve had experience with just about every one of those substances. Most of them were while I was in active addiction where I was clearly “abusing” them. Still, I do remember having a few glimpses of what might be called “profound insight into the wonders of the Universe”. Glimpses that were usually long forgotten by the time I came down.
Fast forward over a decade when-well established in addiction recovery-I came across hypnosis. Ever since my first professional training program, I have had nearly daily experiences of deep insight and wonder. Whether it’s myself connecting with one of my true inner wisdom guides or a client having a moving experience of Universal Love, I feel humility and awe at the beauty of our human mind and soul.
What’s more, I’ve noticed that the insights and impact of these experiences-almost universally-continue to have positive benefits long after the formal hypnosis session has ended. These include transformative shifts in self-image, life-long habit change, and even spiritual awakening.
Psychedelics
The use of psychedelic substances has once again gained popularity in recent years for its mind-altering effects, which seem to allow people to access parts of their minds that are otherwise hidden from them.
There have been major strides, especially in the past few years, towards mainstreaming the use of some of these psychedelic substances for therapeutic purposes. Some positively giddy articles have lauded their effectiveness in treating depression, PTSD, general anxiety disorder, and even addiction.
However, while psychedelics may offer a transformative-even therapeutic-experience-it is not the only way to access the power of our subconscious. Hypnosis is a natural alternative that can lead to profound inner experiences without any need to rely on external substances.
Hypnosis Is Where It’s At!
Hypnosis has been around in one form or another for millennia and has been used for a wide range of purposes, from treating medical conditions, enhancing creativity, and healing emotional traumas and wounds. It is a natural state of mind in which a person is in a trance-like state, similar to daydreaming. During hypnosis, the conscious mind is quieted, allowing the subconscious mind to come forward. In this state, people can access their inner wisdom and guidance, connect with their Higher Self, and experience profound insights into the meaning and purpose of their lives.
One of the main benefits of hypnosis that I often extol is that it is all-natural. Since there are no chemical substances involved, there is no risk of substance abuse. This can be a major concern for people who may have a history of addiction. In addition, there isn’t any risk of a so-called “bad trip” due to the unpredictability of setting, the brain’s reaction to the chemical, or other external circumstances.
Hypnosis is a safe and effective way to access the subconscious mind without any negative side effects (see study). It is also a highly personalized experience, tailored to your individual needs and desires. This means that each hypnosis session is unique and can be adapted to your specific needs.
Hypnosis is a powerful tool for accessing the creative elements of the subconscious mind. Many famous artists, writers, and musicians have used hypnosis to enhance their creativity and access their inner genius. Hypnosis can help you tap into your natural creativity, allowing you to come up with innovative ideas and solutions to problems. It can also help you break through creative blocks and access your full potential.
Hypnosis can also be used to access inner wisdom and guidance. The subconscious mind is full of knowledge and insights that are often inaccessible to the conscious mind. During hypnosis, you can access this inner wisdom and gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your life. Hypnosis can help you connect with your intuition and make better decisions based on your inner guidance.
Connecting with the Higher Self is another benefit of hypnosis. The Higher Self is the part of us that is connected to the entire universe and has access to infinite wisdom and knowledge. By accessing the Higher Self during hypnosis, you can gain a greater understanding of your purpose in life and connect with your spiritual nature. This can lead to a sense of inner peace and fulfillment that is difficult to reliably achieve through other means.
So, while psychedelics may be trendy right now, hypnosis is a time-tested, safe, and natural way to access the subconscious mind. Hypnosis is a powerful tool for enhancing creativity, accessing inner wisdom and guidance, and connecting with the Higher Self. It is a personalized experience that can be tailored to your true needs as revealed by the deep wisdom of your subconscious mind.
So, the next time you’re looking to explore your subconscious mind, consider hypnosis as a safe and natural alternative to psychedelics.
